ecently, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) has been applied to various application fields.
In this paper, a new optimization method ``alpha Constrained Particle Swarm Optimizer (aPSO)'', which is the combination of the alpha constrained method and PSO, is proposed. 
The aPSO is applied to several test problems such as nonlinear programming problems and problems with non-convex constraints.
It is compared with GENOCOP5.0 which is one of the famous constrained optimization systems.
It is shown that the aPSO is a very fast and good optimization algorithm for constrained optimization problems.
